On August 1, 2023, the 9th edition of the Dolce Petanque Trophy took place in Knokke-Heist, Belgium, at the Blue Budha Beach in Duinbergen. The event, once conceived as a summer networking opportunity for chefs, celebrated culinary excellence and fostered connections in the hospitality industry, supported by the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. Britt Van de Walle, a talented young Belgian chef, threw the "cochonet" during the traditional throwing ceremony, in the presence of renowned chef Archibald Deprince. This collaboration between Dolce and the Chaîne encouraged emerging culinary talent. Britt will proudly represent Belgium in the International Jeune Rôtisseur competition in Istanbul. The event, a celebration of culinary arts and passion, inspired the next generation. The prize-giving ceremony was graced by the presence of Knokke Schepenen, Nick Wenmaekers, and Bert Debrandere.
